Nigerian Afro-R&B singer FOLA has linked up with BNXN on “My Type,” a smooth Afrobeats collaboration lifted from his sophomore album. The record arrives as part of 9, the 14-song project also called Striker, and it places BNXN alongside FOLA on a slow-burn romance cut built for repeat listens.
“My Type” sits comfortably within the Afrobeats and Afro-R&B lane FOLA has worked since his breakthrough. But the pairing with BNXN gives the song a different weight, because both artists spent the past year trading features across the scene.
FOLA, born Odunlami Afolarin, is a Lagos-based singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 2022. He broke through with “alone” and signed to Bella Shmurda’s Dangbana Republik, while his debut album Catharsis arrived on 4 September 2025.
The production leaves room for the vocals, so neither voice crowds the other. FOLA handles the melody with restraint, while BNXN slides in with his usual warmth. The result is a record that feels unhurried rather than rushed.
