Ghanaian street-hop writer Gonaboy keeps his pen busy as he serves up “Mix Mix (KingSize),” a solo single built for late-night speakers. The record lands as a single, yet it carries the weight of a full project. He rides the beat with his usual textured rasp, so the grit never feels borrowed.
Producers Zeglo, Bookah, and Cyclops handle the boards. They stack pounding kick drums, sharp hi-hat rolls, and flowing subterranean basslines under haunting synth loops. Urgent bounce pulses through the rhythm, but Gonaboy keeps the writing at the centre. His lines chase young culture, individualism, and uncensored street freedom without flinching.
The demand around him keeps growing. He features on Ladipoe’s “Revival” album with “Road Rage / Old Ways,” while “Hollata Story” and “Same Timbs” sit in his recent catalogue. Black Sherif also named him among the emerging acts pushing highlife forward.
Street-hop lives or dies on the writing, and Gonaboy clearly knows where his strength sits.
