Atlanta rapper Gunna is back in album mode as “Splurge” takes shape, with “Pop It” as the first taste. The lead single arrives with Tay Keith behind the boards, a pairing that puts the beat front and center.
Tay Keith built “Pop It” around a sparse, knocking arrangement, so the drums carry most of the weight while Gunna rides the pocket instead of fighting it. The track previewed before its official release on October 9, 2026, and it sets the tone for what Gunna calls an upper-echelon phase of his creative direction.
“Splurge” follows The Last Wun, and more tracks will be announced as the rollout continues. Gunna, born Sergio Giavanni Kitchens in College Park, Georgia, has spent years building a catalog that includes One of Wun and A Gift & A Curse.
Producers like Tay Keith rarely hand over a beat that lets an artist coast, and that tension is the point here.
