South African rapper K.Keed teams up with Orish on “Zalisa,” a track from their second collaborative album Umgaranto II, which arrived in July. The word translates to fulfillment or satisfaction in isiXhosa, and that intention carries through the production. Orish handled the beat, building atmosphere around K.Keed’s writing instead of handing her a loop to fill.
K.Keed, born Mihlali Koyana, is a hip hop artist from South Africa who started releasing music in 2019. She put out the EP ALTER-EGO in 2022 and followed it with the album Bite the Bullet in February 2025. She’s signed to Gallo Record Company and has worked with artists like MidoRSA and April Yung on other tracks from Umgaranto II.
Orish’s approach on “Zalisa” leans cinematic. He doesn’t just loop drums and bass – he layers textures that shift with K.Keed’s cadence. She keeps her delivery tight, no extra syllables or overwritten bars. Every line lands where it needs to, which is harder than it sounds when the beat gives you that much room.
The track runs two minutes and forty seconds, short enough to replay without losing interest. K.Keed doesn’t waste space explaining herself, and Orish doesn’t overload the mix. That restraint makes “Zalisa” work as well as it does.
