Kolaboy is back with a fresh take on his own record, as “Grateful (Afro Version)” gives the Igbo rapper room.
The single landed on 5 September 2024 under Odia Records Limited, and Tripbeatz handles the production. It is the Afro flip of his earlier “Grateful,” so the same message gets a warmer, lighter bounce.
He raps mostly in Igbo and carries his culture like a badge. His catalogue runs through rap and Afrobeats, and “Kolapiano Vol. 2 (Isakaba)” pulled serious numbers. He has also been working toward his album “Nwa Nwanyi Deeper Life.”
The Afro version works because gratitude does not need heavy drums. Tripbeatz keeps the rhythm easy, while Kolaboy stays calm and thankful on the mic. At under three minutes, nothing drags.
