South African producer DJ Stoks teams with Mel Muziq, Miglow and Goitse Levati on “EVERYTHING SO REAL,” a single from “LET LOVE BLOOM.”
The song lands third in the sequence, sitting halfway between the opening statements and the closing moves of the project. It also exists as its own single, so listeners can take it in outside the album.
Those three voices carry the record. But they never crowd out the main idea, and the layered production keeps the whole thing steady.
“LET LOVE BLOOM” arrived on 14 October, with “LERATO LA MAFARATLHATLHA” released ahead of it as a taster from the EP. DJ Stoks has built a catalogue of his own over the years, including “Kosha” with Mel Muziq and Happy Jazzman and “Ndabezitha.” He was signed to Kalawa Jazmee Records before starting his own imprint.
Placing “EVERYTHING SO REAL” in the middle of the tracklist looks deliberate. It gives the project a centre, and it gives the features room to breathe.
