Kolaboy has returned with the opening cut from his new body of work, and it arrives as the first taste. The Nigerian artist built this project around cohesion instead of scattered singles, so the intro carries real weight. It sets the musical and conceptual parameters for everything that follows on the 13-track collection.
“Nwa Nwanyi Deeper Life (Intro)” shares its name with the project it opens, which tells you how tightly the two are bound together. Kolaboy treats the record as a portal rather than a warm-up, and the sequencing feels deliberate because of that. Listeners get welcomed into the depths of his artistic expression before the rest unfolds.
There is a mood here that suits quiet, headphone-heavy listening more than a crowded room. The track moves at its own pace, and the arrangement leaves space for the vocal to breathe. Nothing gets rushed, which fits an intro tasked with holding a whole album’s narrative arc in place.
