Mayonnaise Cebisa gives his new EP its opening statement as “Bafuna Wena,” his collaboration with Buhle Xulu, arrives for listeners.
The song is the title track of his latest project, and it landed on October 1, 2026. Amuseio AB handles the digital distribution, while Cebisa and Buhle Xulu share the vocal load across the record.
Zulu guitar work anchors the arrangement, but the percussion pushes it somewhere livelier. The strings carry the traditional weight, yet the groove keeps things moving. Cebisa leads the performance, while Buhle Xulu’s vocals answer him with a presence that fits the guitar-led backdrop.
Because “Bafuna Wena” sits at the front of the EP, it sets the tone for everything after it. The writing leans on Maskandi roots, although a South African Rock influence runs underneath. So the track feels grounded without sounding stuck in an older era.
