Nigerian comedian-turned-singer Samad returns with a reflective new record titled “Time,” and he keeps his patience theme alive for listeners. The mid-tempo Afrobeats beat carries tapping percussion and an easy bass line underneath. Soft keys float in the background, so the rhythm stays relaxed throughout. Because nothing is rushed, the mood stays hopeful from start to finish.
Samad sings in a calm, steady tone with a chatty feel. You can almost hear his comedy background in the phrasing, because he lands lines like punchlines. The lyrics seem to preach patience, reminding listeners that growth takes time. Short, simple lines make the point easy to repeat. “Time” feels like friendly advice rather than a lecture, so casual listeners can catch the message quickly.
He built his early following through online skits before moving into music. His single “Jet” with Zlatan and Chech preached patience and ambition. “Time” sounds like the next chapter of that same message, since waiting and growth go together.
Records like this suit quiet evenings and long commutes. Have you heard “Time” yet? Drop your thoughts in the comment section below.
