Jos-based singer SHON is back with a second run as “Lekki Epe (Olombe) II” lands with Abefe riding shotgun. The record arrives as the official follow-up to his solo cut “Lekki Epe (Olombe)”, which first surfaced in July.
The new version keeps the original’s frame intact, but Abefe slides in for a guest verse that shifts the temperature. SHON and Abefe are both credited as writers, alongside SHON JOEL NERAT and Agboola Emmanuel Itunu.
SHON was born in Kano State but calls Jos home, and he moves between singing, songwriting, trapping and rapping without much fuss. His run so far includes “Nonchalant”, “Oya Na”, “Run Go”, “OU LALA” and “HOW E DEY BE (HEDB)”.
Abefe’s stock has climbed fast on the back of viral covers and a debut project, so the pairing puts SHON in front of ears that may have missed the first pass. It is a smart, low-risk way to extend a song’s life. “Lekki Epe (Olombe) II” is out now on all digital streaming platforms.
