Zambian Afropop and Dancehall artist T-Sean is back with a new song called “Mutima Wakana” for his listeners. The record arrives as the second track on his five-track tribute EP, Woke Up Missing You.
The EP came out on September 29, 2026, and “Mutima Wakana” sits right after the opening title track. T-Sean built the song from personal notes he wrote during the early stages of his grief. Those late-night thoughts became the foundation for music about confusion, pain, and disbelief.
The title translates from Bemba as “The Heart Refuses” or “The Heart Denies.” T-Sean reflects on the difficulty of accepting the loss of his wife, Sharai, who passed away on July 27, 2026. The song leans on denial and emotional vulnerability, so it sounds far from his usual energetic Dancehall and Afropop material.
That shift makes sense for the project. Fans know him for upbeat records, but grief does not follow the same script. “Mutima Wakana” gives the EP its most intimate moment while showing another side of the artist.
