Zambian star T-Sean steps into a somber Dancehall and Afropop space with “Tears Tequila Shots,” a record far from his usual energy. The song lands as the third track on his five-track tribute EP, Woke Up Missing You, which he released on September 29, 2026.
He built the project around the grief that followed the unexpected passing of his wife, Sharai, on July 27, 2026. So “Tears Tequila Shots” carries that weight through the imagery of tears and tequila. The song speaks to how people sometimes try to cope with pain that feels impossible to process, while the slower delivery and restrained melodic passages mirror the shifting intensity of loss.
Anyone who knows T-Sean from his more energetic Zambian Dancehall output will hear a different side here. But that contrast is the point. The rawness lets him communicate vulnerability without leaning on an elaborate arrangement, and the track adds real depth to a project drawn from personal memory.
