TML Vibez has returned with “Close To You,” a fresh Afrobeats record that keeps his run with producer Godomarr moving forward. The Nigerian vocalist stays in familiar company here, because Godomarr has become a steady presence across his recent material.
The song comes from A Street Kid’s Diary (Disc 2), the album Godomarr is well represented on. That project also carries “Diamond or Gold,” “SHON PE (Count Your Money),” and “CnF (Gbewa),” so the pairing is not a one-off experiment. “Close To You” simply extends a working relationship that keeps producing singles.
TML Vibez records through Vibez Inc., the label run by Seyi Vibez alongside Dapper Music. His catalogue already includes the “Timileyin” EP and its deluxe version, plus singles like “Hello” and “Body Tuff.” He has built his sound around Afrobeats melody, and Wizkid sits among the artists he grew up listening to.
What “Close To You” does differently is tempo. The beat moves quicker than his softer records, so his melodic phrasing sits over a brisker rhythmic foundation. Godomarr handles that production, and the contrast gives the track its pull.
The song is available on all major streaming platforms. Have you listened to “Close To You” yet? Drop your thoughts in the comment section below.
