South African Amapiano duo TxC have linked up with Davido, Zlatan, Shoday and Scotts Maphuma for “Nakupenda – Live in London”.
The live version turns the romantic original into an arena-sized party anthem. It carries banging kick drums, snappy percussion shakers and speaker-rattling log drum patterns throughout.
Davido and Scotts Maphuma own the vocal pocket here. Their deep harmonies and impassioned delivery carry the mid-tempo Amapiano groove. Zlatan and Shoday go the other way, bringing raw street grit, quick ad-libs and viral dancing cadences.
That contrast gives “Nakupenda – Live in London” its pull. One side sings, the other side sprays energy across the log drums. It fits a crowd that wants both melody and movement in the same night.
The collaboration also speaks to a wider appetite. Fans across the continent keep chasing fusions of South African log drums and Lagos street energy, and this lineup feeds that demand.
