TY Bello returns with “I Only Have Eyes for You,” a worship track lifted from the 20-song gospel project I Speak Lamb. It marks her eighth offering on the album, sitting deep within a body of work built around faith and reflection.
I Speak Lamb arrived as one half of a double release, paired with I Speak Lion, giving listeners a broad set of songs to sit with. The project follows earlier efforts like “We Are Fire” and “The Spirit of Light.”
Based in Ogun State, TY Bello studied economics at the University of Lagos before music took over. She first gained attention with Kush, the gospel and R&B group she joined alongside Lara George and others. Her solo work later produced songs like “Greenland” and “Nobody Else.”
Yet the placement of “I Only Have Eyes for You” says plenty about how she builds an album. Instead of front-loading the obvious moments, she lets quieter tracks carry weight, so the record unfolds gradually for anyone paying attention.
