Nigerian gospel icon Ty Bello returns with “Oja,” a stirring track lifted from her double project, I Speak Lamb, featuring Evan Olajide and Daniel Bello.
“Oja” sits at number seventeen on a twenty-song record built around Nigerian gospel themes. The collaboration carries the album’s spiritual weight well, because the three voices trade lines without any strain.
Ty Bello first became popular as a member of the defunct gospel band Kush in the 2000s. However, she has stayed consistent since then, releasing projects like We Are Fire and The Spirit of Light.
On “Oja,” the delivery stays restrained rather than dramatic. Evan Olajide and Daniel Bello add texture underneath, so the message lands without overselling itself.
