French-Cameroonian singer-songwriter Yamê teams up with Adekunle Gold on a heartfelt new single titled “On My Mind.”

This isn’t his first time bridging Francophone and Afrobeats audiences either. Following the viral success of “Bécane,” Yamê has increasingly leaned on cross-continental collaborations to widen his reach, and pairing with a veteran like Adekunle Gold — known for his own journey from highlife to pop — fits squarely into that strategy.

The track blends Yamê’s jazz-influenced piano melodies and rap-inflected vocal style with Adekunle Gold’s smoother Afro-fusion delivery. That contrast gives “On My Mind” real texture, since neither artist sounds like they’re compromising their own identity to meet halfway.

Themes of love, desire, and emotional connection run through the lyrics throughout. The chorus stays memorable without overreaching, and the chemistry between both voices comes through clearly across the full runtime.

The song also arrived alongside a stripped-back “Boat Session” version, directed by Igor Dorembus, which trades studio polish for raw, acoustic chemistry between the two.

Stream “On My Mind” now, and check out the Boat Session version too if you want to hear it stripped all the way down.
