76 Drums continues building his Kalindula-infused sound as the Zambian artist drops “International Baby” with street-hop star Blood Kid Yvok. The record is a rhythm-packed love ballad, and it leans hard into melody.
Southern African pop fans have been craving exactly this kind of fusion. 76 Drums brings folk textures into a contemporary dance bounce, while Blood Kid Yvok adds gritty rapid-fire bursts on top. BeatFrik handles the boards, and his work gives the song a joyful feel. Banging kick drums and snappy percussion shakers sit under delicious live guitar riffs. The rolling bassline also keeps the bounce moving without crowding the mix.
The pairing makes sense for the scene right now. Kopala street hop heads and Zee Beats fans rarely get one track that speaks to both camps. “International Baby” does that by keeping the romance at the centre. 76 Drums rides the beat with seasoned cadence and lyrical charm, and Blood Kid Yvok matches him with passion.
