Ayra Starr – Starrgirl

Ayra Starr steps into a bolder era with “Starrgirl,” a third studio album carrying her signature confidence into fresh sonic territory. The 16-track project arrived through Mavin Records and Republic Records, expanding her sound beyond the Afrobeats lane she helped define.

While the title nods to her “Sabi Girl” identity, the music pushes further out. Electronic textures sit beside pop hooks, and the Bouyon rhythms on “Ms Paper” with Theodora bring a Caribbean pulse. Wizkid jumps on “Gimme Dat,” Rema appears for “Who’s Dat Girl,” and ZAYN links up for “Heaven Baby.” Terry Apala opens the record with a traditional vocal intro that grounds everything.

Ayra Starr has always moved across Afrobeats, R&B, and alté, but “Starrgirl” feels wider than anything she has released before. The mood shifts between playful, reflective, and restless, so it suits late-night drives just as well as loud parties. She sounds less like she is proving something and more like she is enjoying the space she has carved out.
