South African artist Baby S.O.N returns with “Ngixolele,” a new single that pairs his vocals with DJ Maphorisa, Yumbs and Xduppy.
The track gives listeners another look at his growth as an artist, while also showing how his sound keeps shifting. DJ Maphorisa, Yumbs and Xduppy bring an energetic feel to the record, and their contributions add a lively mix of styles around his voice. Each name on the lineup pulls the song in a slightly different direction, yet the result stays tight instead of crowded.
That blend lifts Baby S.O.N’s trademark sound instead of burying it, so the delivery stays at the centre of “Ngixolele.” Long time followers and first time listeners both get something here, because the hooks arrive early and the rhythms carry the rest. The guest turns never take over the song, so his voice remains the thread tying every section together. It is a record built for repeat plays, and the replay value sits in how those pieces lock in.
