Cartoon47 links up with Mtalibani Halisi on “Maskani,” a new joint that puts both voices on one record at last.
The track brings Gengetone and coastal rap together on a single sound. Mastakip handled the production, while Kenah directed the official music video. It also falls under Sana Shamba Hub, a movement pushing talent from Kenya’s Coast.
Cartoon47 has stayed busy with releases like “Naringa nae,” “Madeni,” and “Ingwe,” plus past work with Ntosh, Stevo, and Brandy Maina. Before this drop, he answered critics who claimed he was riding Mtalibani Halisi’s rising profile. “Maskani” lets both artists settle that talk on wax instead.
Delivery carries the record. Cartoon47 brings his usual weight, while Mtalibani Halisi answers with a relaxed coastal flow. The beat leaves room for both, so neither voice gets buried.
