Ghanaian highlife artist Cojo Rae has dropped a new bonus cut titled “Lala,” and the record features Kumasi rap heavyweight Ypee. The record lands as a bright, rhythm-heavy collaboration built for feel-good listening. Cojo Rae and Ypee trade space over a joyful, mid-tempo groove on “Lala.” The song comes from his studio project Gen Z Highlife, and it pairs Cojo Rae’s young melodic pull with Ypee’s experienced rap clout. But the mood stays light throughout, so the result lands as a party record.
The production keeps things spacious. Bright electric guitar riffs carry the melody, while rolling basslines and snappy percussion shakers push the rhythm forward. Cojo Rae fronts the cut with silken vocals and an enticing sing-a-long chorus. Ypee steps in with high energy and rapid-fire Twi punchlines, yet the two never crowd each other.
That mix of highlife melody and street rap flow suits listeners craving feel-good anthems right now. “Lala (Bonus)” is out on all digital platforms. Have you streamed it yet? Drop your reaction in the comments below.
