South African producer DJ Stoks brings his new EP to a close as “SOUL & MIND” lands with Mel Muziq and Brysonfr. The song is the fifth and final tune off “LET LOVE BLOOM,” a five-track project that arrived on 14 October. It also carries a Universal Music license through Matured Studios, while a visualizer has been doing the rounds online.
Because it closes the record, “SOUL & MIND” carries weight. The vocals from Mel Muziq and Brysonfr settle into a slower, more reflective space. Yet the groove never disappears underneath them. It suits late-night listening more than a crowded floor.
That range is nothing new for DJ Stoks. His catalogue moves between deep house and dance, from “Stoks And Family” to the “Sculptured” EP. He has also worked with DJ Jaivane and DJ Givy, so he knows how to build around a guest.
Here, the pieces fit together without strain. The production leaves room for the voices, and the closing slot feels earned rather than forced.
