South African artist Echo Deep opens his new album with “Intro,” the first track on an eleven-song project called “Vusani.” The song arrives as the doorway into a body of work he is rolling out in 2026. It is also the first of eleven tracks, so it carries plenty of weight.
“Intro” sets the tone for the whole album, and it introduces the creative world of Echo Deep. The placement matters because the opener hints at the story and thematic arc he built around “Vusani.” It invites the listener on a musical voyage that runs through the rest of the record.
The project itself is a unified body of work, presented from a South African viewpoint. “Vusani” also reflects the vision and approach of Echo Deep at this point in his career. But the opening cut is where that vision starts.
