Fany – Mabinti wa Kizanzibar

Tanzanian artist Fany has released a new Bongo Flava single titled “Mabinti wa Kizanzibar,” which translates to “Zanzibari Girls.” The song was released on October 1, 2026. Fany is also known as Khalfan Ali Rashid.

The record celebrates women from the Zanzibar archipelago. According to the release, Fany highlights qualities associated with Zanzibari women. These include beauty, elegance, modesty, gentle character and traditional values.

Devy Marchods produced the track. It pairs contemporary Bongo Flava with coastal musical influences. Warm melodic keys, guitar touches and crisp percussion give it a relaxed mid-tempo character. The sound keeps its Tanzanian identity firmly in place.

The song carries a strong cultural focus. Fany uses it to spotlight Zanzibar’s people and traditions through a contemporary sound. The approach gives the tribute a form that can connect with younger listeners.

The release follows a meeting between Fany and Joseph Kusaga, CEO of Clouds Media Group. They discussed opportunities for expanding the visibility of music from the islands across East Africa.
