Fola – How Many?

Nigerian singer-songwriter FOLA returns with a new Afrobeats and street-pop record, as “How Many?” lands early on his sophomore album. The track holds the second spot on the 14-track project 9, arriving right after the intro, “Awade.”

Because it sits so close to the top, the song carries weight as an entry point. It also lands before “2am in toronto,” his collaboration with Davido, on the official sequence. Dangbana Republik Records and EMPIRE put out the release.

For those just meeting him, FOLA is a Lagos-based singer-songwriter, born Odunlami Afolarin. But he broke through with “alone,” signed to Bella Shmurda’s Dangbana Republik, and built his debut album Catharsis around that momentum.

The production leans into rhythm first. Percussion drives the arrangement while sparse melodic touches leave room for his vocal to sit up front. So the beat moves, yet nothing crowds the delivery. Each section feeds the next without overloading the mix.
