Japhet Zabron – Bhakitachang’wa (Sukuma)

Japhet Zabron has stepped into Sukuma tradition with “Bhakitachang’wa (Sukuma),” a wedding song built for both ceremony and celebration. The Tanzanian gospel artist uses the track to honour the customs of the Wasukuma, Tanzania’s largest ethnic group.

At its core, the song follows a man determined to meet the mahari requirements and win the blessing of both families. So the story moves between duty and joy. Daniel Gonge handled the audio production, while Joshua Katumbo of Katumbo Music took care of mixing and mastering.

Zabron’s catalogue stretches across gospel and traditional sounds. He has appeared alongside Godfrey Steven on “SITOKUACHA” from the Hatulipii Bili album, and worked with Emmanuel Mashauri on “Amenifanyia Tena.” His own releases include the Hatulipii Bili album and Kusudi La Mungu.

On “Bhakitachang’wa (Sukuma),” the mood stays warm and playful. Lyrics praise women, young men, and the hardworking spirit of Usukumani, while the wedding setting keeps everything rooted in culture. It connects old tradition with the sound of contemporary Tanzanian music.
