Egyptian singer Khaled Essam keeps building on his recent run of releases as he drops “NAWY,” a piano-led Arabic ballad with weight. The track arrived with an official music video, so fans get both the audio and the visuals at once.
Khaled Essam wrote and composed “NAWY” himself, while Riff handled production, mixing, and mastering. A pianist credited as Mickeys adds the instrumental warmth, and SirMix worked on the typography for the visual. The Basement Records put out the release, with Mohamed El Shaer as executive producer and Mohaned Saeb as project manager.
That setup fits an artist who moves comfortably across moods. His catalogue includes the “Ka2en Hay” EP and singles like “W Eh Yaany,” “Zaman,” and “Ana Asef.” He has also worked with names such as Ahmed Kamel and Cairokee’s Amir Eid.
“NAWY” works because the arrangement stays out of the way. The piano and his voice carry the story, while the Egyptian-dialect lyrics keep everything plain and direct. It suits a quiet night more than a loud one.
