Sandra Naxx continues building her dancehall catalogue as she joins Champion Ogudo on the new street-pop record “Kinyakula.”
The two artists teased the song before its release. Studio snippets and short video clips spread on social media, so young Ugandan fans already had something to talk about. Her vocals carry the melody throughout, while Champion Ogudo answers with rapid-fire Luganda. His verses push the tempo forward. That back-and-forth gives “Kinyakula” its drive.
Billton and GZ Beats share the production and mastering work. The record runs just over two minutes, so it stays tight and easy to loop. Listings describe the sound as Afrobeats-style rhythm mixed with Kampala’s Fangone energy.
Sandra Naxx has been active this year. She teamed up with Alien Skin on “Kapati” and “Nepanka.” Songs like “Ntoli,” “Teli Kwekwasa,” and “Pick And Play” with Mudra D Viral came before.
Short, loud, and built for dance clips, “Kinyakula” suits TikTok well. Her delivery sits at the centre of it all, because movement shapes how she handles a melody.
