South African Maskandi artist Mbeje has released his new album “IMMUNE SYSTEM,” and its closing track is already the talking point. The eight-track project arrived on October 7, 2026, following weeks of previews that built real anticipation online.
The title track runs 17 minutes and 5 seconds, so it takes up more than a third of the 45-minute album. The other seven songs share roughly 28 minutes between them. “10 OVER 10” stands as a headline cut, while “Ngiyinsizwa” runs longest of the seven at 4:52.
Writing sits at the heart of the record, because sources describe string instrumentation and poetic Zulu storytelling throughout. That approach keeps “IMMUNE SYSTEM” rooted in Maskandi tradition, yet the closing title track pushes past the usual song length.
The name itself invites a reading, since an immune system defends the body against harm. So the title can suggest resilience and standing firm under pressure. Mbeje has kept a steady output, with the “LATHI ICHUNU ASOHLUPHA” EP and other releases behind him.
