Ochi War delivers a long-form Ogene experience on “Mirima Doo,” a recording that gives traditional Igbo music room to build.
The track runs 21 minutes and 22 seconds, so it moves far from the short songs dominating playlists today. Ochi War leans on Ogene bells and Okanga drums throughout. His vocal delivery carries the feel of a traditional Igbo gathering, while chants and responses shape the performance.
“Mirima Doo” opens the two-song project Ogene Okanga, Vol. 2, with “Ndi M Ji Eme Onu” sitting at number two. Both recordings pass the 21-minute mark. The project first appeared in 2015 under Super (N) Hits, and a later digital edition arrived through Bliss Music in October 2023.
Igbo proverbs and cultural expressions run through the delivery, so the song stays tied to community rather than serving as background sound. An official video was shared through Wyldpytch Rekords and 51 Lex Records.
