Amapiano producer Stixx steps off the soft stuff and rides into the city with a driving new record titled “Jozi Express.” The title alone suggests motion, and the song leans on that feeling.
This one is a pure groove record. After a run of voice-led releases, Stixx swings back to the drums and lets the rhythm carry the weight. Jozi is Joburg’s nickname, and the city has fed piano’s biggest nights for years, so the name sets a clear expectation.
The tempo stays lifted throughout, and the groove never stalls. Stixx builds like a conductor, letting one pattern run before swapping a layer just as the loop risks going stale. Those small switches keep the ride interesting from stop to stop.
There is no feature on “Jozi Express,” so the beat tells most of the story here. That choice suits the mood, because the record is built for packed rooms and long nights rather than a quiet listen.
