Tion Wayne has been teasing a sound shift for a while, but “Old Dilemma” finally delivers on that promise.
The North London rapper drops a melodic record that leans into the early-2000s R&B era. At its core sits a sample of Nelly and Kelly Rowland’s 2002 classic “Dilemma.” Tion Wayne flips that recognizable hook into his own story, one about a messy relationship caught between breakups, reunions, and feelings that never quite fade.
Lyrically, he weighs the pull of money and luxury against the cost of romance. Expensive watches and a changed lifestyle complicate things, yet he still wants to leave old mistakes behind. That tension drives the record forward.
Production-wise, “Old Dilemma” steps away from heavy drill energy. Instead, a bouncy UK rap groove pairs with that warm R&B sample, creating something summery and nostalgic. It connects his modern edge to a beloved sound without losing his identity.
