Nigerian Hausa-language singer UMAR MB returns to a title he first recorded as “ZUCIYA” arrives with a new video. The song is a fresh take on a name his followers already know from his 2024 EP RUHI.
Music by UMAR MB, while the official video was directed by Sir Zeesu. The clip features Aisha Soba and Kama S Fulani, with actor Ali Nuhu helping to publicize the premiere. The title means “heart” in Hausa, the language that carries much of his catalog.
He works largely in Northern Nigeria’s Hausa music scene, and RUHI served as his studio debut album under Arewa Medium Production. Along the way he has recorded with names like Shamsiyya Sadi, Hairat Abdullahi, and Khadija Yarlele, and he produces much of his own material.
Reworking an older title makes sense for an artist building a catalog rather than chasing singles. His audience already knows “ZUCIYA” from RUHI, so a new video gives the song a second life. It also keeps momentum going after “ANINI.”
