South African traditional Maskandi outfits and expressive storytellers Amabongwa drop a deeply rooted record, “Izitha.”
The group carries Maskandi forward with “Izitha,” a song built on proverbs and Zulu storytelling. Listeners who follow the outfit expected substance over noise, and this one leans into lyricism.
There is plenty to unpack in “Izitha” about knowing who is real. The words also speak on rising above hate and the haters. Amabongwa asks for God’s protection while drawing strength from their forefathers. Those themes turn personal vulnerability into something a wider audience can hold onto.
The acoustic-led production moves with the group’s expressive vocal energy from start to finish. Because the arrangement stays rich without crowding the message, the record lands as a complete listen.
Traditional music fans and younger dreamers can both find something here. So add it to your morning motivation playlist and give it a proper spin.
