K/DA returns with “FIRESTARTER,” a new record featuring Miyeon and Soyeon of i-dle alongside Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb for listeners. The virtual League of Legends girl group has not released music in nearly six years, so this comeback carries real weight for fans who have waited.
Miyeon and Soyeon, both from South Korea, have voiced Ahri and Akali since 2018. Fortiche, the French studio behind Arcane, handles the animation on the video. The production leans on bright K-pop synths and a heavy low end, while sharp drums keep the pace tight. The arrangement also gives each singer a turn in the spotlight.
Soyeon takes the early spotlight with her rap, and fans already singled out her verse. She attacks the beat with tight, clipped delivery, whereas Miyeon floats over the chorus. Canadian singer Powers adds a hyperpop streak as Evelynn, but English singer Webb gives Kai’Sa a dancer’s edge. The video even pairs a voguing scene with Soyeon’s rap.
Its message points to confidence and owning the stage, so the writing keeps things direct rather than crowded. That focus suits a group built on big personalities.
