Tanzanian gospel group Neema Gospel Choir returns to the hymnbook with “Hymns Medley,” a live choral recording reviving songs many grew up singing. The performance blends traditional Christian hymns with contemporary choral harmonies, building a worship experience rooted in praise, prayer, and devotion.
Choirmaster Fredrick Japhet Kilago, known as Masanja, directed and orchestrated the medley. The arrangement draws from classic Swahili hymn collections, including Kitabu cha Tenzi za Rohoni and Kitabu cha Nyimbo za Sifa. Because those books anchor the song list, the choir honours established gospel traditions through collective vocals and layered harmonies. The group recorded it live on October 14, 2026.
Neema Gospel Choir operates under the Africa Inland Church Tanzania, which keeps the ensemble close to its worship community. The choir also released “Rafiki” with Xolly Mncwango, while earlier singles like “Neno Lako” and “Iende Mbele” kept its catalogue moving.
The medley works because the subject matter needs no reinvention. Hymns already carry the weight, so the choir simply gives them room to breathe in a choral setting. That makes the release useful for personal devotion and congregational praise alike.
