South African artist Umfoka Msezane gives listeners another taste of his album with “Iqiniso lami,” a new track featuring Qhawelisha. The song holds the sixth spot on his twelve-track project, Awulith’ qheke.
Qhawelisha’s feature adds another layer to the composition, and that extra voice shifts the record’s whole build. The arrangement carries a South African musical environment at its core, so the sound feels rooted rather than borrowed.
What stands out is how the production frames both artists. Nothing gets crowded out. The beat leaves room for each verse to land, while the guest turn pushes the energy higher.
“Iqiniso lami” also fits the wider arc of Awulith’ qheke, one of twelve songs working toward a unified narrative. Yet it holds its own among the various offerings on the record, because the arrangement gives it a distinct shape.
