Tate McRae opens a fresh chapter with “Housewife,” a playful pop single and her first new music since “Nobody’s Girl” in November 2025. The song leads her fourth studio album and arrives through RCA Records. It came out on October 15, 2026, with a video shot in the South of France.
Julia Michaels and Ryan Tedder helped write the track, and both have worked with McRae before. Alex Rea is credited as producer. The single cover leans into trophy wife and tradwife imagery, with McRae in a red bikini beside a stroller full of cash. Yet the joke cuts the other way. She has described the song as being about a woman who cannot be contained.
McRae moves easily between dance-heavy pop and sharper, hook-first records. Her third album, “So Close to What,” carried hits like “Sports Car” and “It’s OK I’m OK.” She even teased this title on screens at Lollapalooza and Osheaga, then joked that fans missed the most obvious clue.
The production stays bright and loose, while the vocal keeps its bite. Nothing drags. It sounds like a big return, not a small drop.
