A$AP Rocky flips the chase on “SWAT TEAM,” a Don’t Be Dumbb track that finally got its visual treatment months later.
The video, co-directed by Rocky and Arnaud Deroudilhe with Frenzy Paris producing, makes the reversal literal. A tactical unit closes in on him, but he barely flinches. He stays unbothered while the pursuit unfolds, then he and his crew overwhelm the officers and seize control. That composure is the point. The hunters end up outplayed, and Rocky looks like he already knew how it would end.
Lyrically, the record splits its attention. There is a romantic thread early on, with lines about taking a felony for love and a nod to a courtroom moment. Then the track shifts into familiar Rocky territory: fashion references, chart talk, a claim that he does it for the craft rather than the cash. Jordan Patrick holds a producer credit, and the beat gives Rocky room to move between those modes without losing footing.
The rollout has been busy. “SWAT TEAM” arrived just days after the “SHROOM CLOUDS” video, and Rocky previewed the clip during stops on his world tour before releasing it in full. That pacing suggests he is not done with this album cycle yet.
