Headies-winning Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has released a new record titled “JONZIN,” a breezy track that is built on Naija slang. The title sets the mood of the song, according to the report.
The beat is smooth and mid-paced, carrying soft drums, a rolling bass and shiny keys. Light Caribbean touches slip in, described as a habit from his Mr Boombastic days. The groove is sunny and unbothered.
Blaqbonez glides between singing and rapping, keeping his tone cool and his timing sharp. The lyrics lean on good living, charm and the confidence that comes with winning, with playful lines adding humour. The slang gives the song street flavour.
The record follows his habit of switching personas, from Bad Boy Blaq to Mr Boombastic. On “JONZIN,” the report states, he sounds like Emeka the Stallion, the one who sings and flirts.
