Nigerian rap star Blaqbonez has released a new record titled “LIKE 2021,” which continues his recent run of “Like” titled songs. The title refers to the year 2021, which the source describes as the year that changed his career.
The release follows “Like Ice Spice” and “Like Bezos,” extending a clear naming pattern. According to the source, Blaqbonez dropped “Sex Over Love” and opened Wizkid’s O2 Arena show in 2021. That run, the source states, built his fanbase.
The source describes the beat as rich and confident, with big drums, a deep bass and bright keys. Subtle chants fill the background, giving it the feel of a party recap. Blaqbonez raps with a playful boast and keeps the flow quick, the source adds, swinging into melody when needed.
The lyrics revisit wins, women and his rise from internet rascal to chart name, per the source. The hook gives listeners a simple year to shout back. The source calls the track a victory lap with a sense of humour.
